In Western architecture, money room, generally known as a lounge room, lounge or sitting area, is often a room within a residential house or apartment to relax and socializing. Objects in spaces may be used "to instigate and mediate contemplation about significant others, or even regulate the quantity of intimacy desired with guests.A typical Western family room may contain furnishings for example a sofa, chairs, occasional tables, coffee tables, bookshelves, electric lamps, rugs, or some other furniture. Traditionally, a sitting area in the United Kingdom and New Zealand includes a fireplace, dating from the time this was important for heating. In a Japanese lounge, referred to as a washitsu, the ground is covered with tatami, sectioned mats, which people can sit comfortably.
